Classroom of the Elite Season pushed back to January 2024

Despite announcing a 2023 release for the third season of Classroom of the Elite, the anime project has been delayed until January 2024 due to various circumstances.

The first and second seasons will begin rebroadcasting in July and September respectively. An updated key visual for the third season has been released with the revised broadcast window.

Studio Lerche will return to animate Season 3 of Classroom of the Elite. The anime production is based on the popular light novels written by Shogo Kinugasa’s light novels, and licensed for English by Seven Seas Entertainment in the West.

A manga adaptation of the light novels, with art by Yuyu Ichino, is also available from Seven Seas.

Crunchyroll streams Classroom of the Elite outside of Japan, and they describe the story: Kiyotaka Ayanokoji has just enrolled at Tokyo Koudo Ikusei Senior High School, where it’s said that 100% of students go on to college or find employment. But he ends up in Class 1-D, which is full of all the school’s problem children.

What’s more, every month, the school awards students points with a cash value of 100,000 yen, and the classes employ a laissez-faire policy in which talking, sleeping, and even sabotage are permitted during class. One month later, Ayanokoji, Horikita, and the students of Class D learn the truth of the system in place within their school…
