Kingdom Season 5 Release Date Announced and Key Visual's Revealed

The Kingdom anime adaptation is gearing up for its highly anticipated fifth season, and fans are in for a treat with the release of the first key visual featuring the Hi Shin Unit. The series is set to hit Japanese screens in January 2024.

Kingdom is an anime adaptation based on the manga of the same name, created by Yasuhisa Hara and published by Shueisha. The manga, which is set in the Warring States period, began its journey in 2006 and currently boasts an impressive 69 tankoubon volumes as of July 2023. The anime first debuted in 2012 with its first season, and the fourth season aired in 2022.

The storyline of Kingdom follows two war-orphans, Shin and Hyou, in the kingdom of Qin. Their dreams revolve around proving their worth on the battlefield, but their lives take a dramatic turn when Hyou is captured by a minister. Despite a daring escape, Hyou returns to the village severely injured. In an unexpected encounter, Shin meets a mysterious youth who bears a striking resemblance to Hyou - a boy destined to become an emperor one day! Kingdom season 5 teaser was revealed a while ago.

The creative team behind Season 5 remains consistent with previous successful seasons. Kenichi Imaizumi will take the reins as the director, with Noboru Takagi as the series composer. Hisashi Abe will continue as the character designer, while Miyuki Abe handles color design. Hiroyuki Sawano and KOHTA YAMAMOTO will once again contribute their musical talents as the music composers. The animation production credits go to Pierrot and its subsidiary, St.Signpost.

The anime boasts an impressive cast, with talented voice actors like Masakazu Morita as Shin, Jun Fukuyama as Ei Sei, Rie Kugimiya as Karyo Ten, Youko Hikasa as Kyou Kai, Susumi Akagi as En, and Kousuke Toriumi as Bihei.

Aside from the anime, the Kingdom manga is serialized in Weekly Young Jump under the Young Jump Comics label. Fans can also look forward to the release of the third live-action film, scheduled to premiere in Japan on July 28.

With the fifth season just around the corner, Kingdom fans are eagerly counting down the days until they can witness the epic adventures of the Hi Shin Unit unfold on their screens.
