Right Stuf Merging with Crunchyroll

Crunchyroll has announced that it will be phasing out its Right Stuf store and moving its products to the Crunchyroll Store, starting on October 10. All the products previously available on Right Stuf will still be accessible to customers through the Crunchyroll Store.

Furthermore, the Crunchyroll Store is planning a 2023 holiday sale, similar to Right Stuf's regular sales, although some changes in the sale operation have been hinted at. Details about these changes for the "Crunchyroll Holiday Sale" have not been disclosed at this time.

Crunchyroll is also emphasizing its commitment to expanding its eCommerce offerings.

In an update, Crunchyroll clarified that this transition will have no impact on licenses held by Nozomi Entertainment, including properties like Macross. Projects such as Right Stuf and Nozomi Entertainment's Kickstarted Blu-ray Disc release for Dirty Pair will continue as scheduled.

Crunchyroll also confirmed that there will be no disruption to international shipping and availability. The company will continue to offer international shipping, with specific restrictions and limitations outlined in Crunchyroll's FAQ for areas outside of the U.S. and Canada.

In related news, John Sirabella of Media Blasters announced on YouTube that Right Stuf will no longer be involved in live-action projects. ANN (Anime News Network) reached out to Right Stuf for additional comments on this development.

Crunchyroll had previously acquired Right Stuf in August 2022, aiming to expand its eCommerce services. Shawne Kleckner, former president and co-founder of Right Stuf, and the Right Stuf team joined Crunchyroll's Emerging Businesses organization, headed by Terry Li.

Kleckner departed from the company in December of the same year. Additionally, Christine Morgan, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Right Stuf, left both Right Stuf and Crunchyroll in March. Right Stuf's history traces back to its founding by Todd Ferson, initially as a shell company for wholesale telescope purchases. The company was later renamed Right Stuf in 1987 after acquiring its first anime license, Astro Boy, and has since grown into a prominent figure in the anime industry.
