For English-speaking fans, Kodansha USA Publishing is making the original Blue Lock manga available both digitally and in print. The manga's storyline revolves around Japan's national team's quest for an Ace Striker after a devastating loss at the 2018 World Cup. The Japan Football Union is determined to create a striker with an insatiable hunger for goals and an unquenchable thirst for victory. To achieve this, they've gathered 300 of Japan's most promising young players. The story follows their journey to find the one who can lead the team to victory, all while facing formidable opponents on and off the field.
Kaneshiro and Nomura initiated the manga's serialization in Weekly Shōnen Magazine in August 2018.
The BLUELOCK TV anime made its debut in Japan in October 2022, with Crunchyroll streaming the series as it aired and offering an English dub. The good news is that the anime is set to return for a second season, so fans can look forward to more soccer action and drama.
