Hunter x Hunter Manga Returns in Weekly Shonen Jump on October 7

Shueisha announced during its "Jump Press" livestream on Monday that Yoshihiro Togashi's Hunter x Hunter manga will return in Weekly Shonen Jump, resuming in this year's 45th issue on October 7.

The manga had been on hiatus since January 2023 due to Togashi's health concerns. At that time, Shueisha, in consultation with Togashi, decided that the manga would no longer follow a weekly serialization format.

The 38th compiled book volume of the manga will be released by Shueisha on September 4. Togashi has been hinting at progress on upcoming chapters through posts on X (formerly Twitter).

Shueisha published the manga's 37th volume in November 2022, marking its first new volume in four years. Viz Media released the English version of this volume last October. In March 2023, Togashi confirmed the completion of chapter 401, though the exact date for the series' serialization return was not disclosed. He also provided updates on chapter 405's progress in May.

Togashi originally launched the manga in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 1998. The series has since inspired two television anime series, two anime films, multiple OVA titles, and stage plays.

Later this year, Bushiroad Games and Eighting will release a 2D 3v3 fighting game based on the manga, titled Hunter x Hunter Nen x Impact, for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
